Mother-Toddler feeding interactions - Exposure to pieces

In the present study we videotaped 60 healthy French mothers and their toddlers (12-24 months) during two meal sessions, including one test meal with food pieces. Our hypotheses are that: (a) individuals' characteristics influence the quality of feeding interactions and that (b) the exposure to food pieces may influence the quality of dyadic interactions. Results show that toddler's age and temperament, mother's general health scores and anxiety are factors that influence the quality of feeding interactions whereas introduction of food pieces is not.
