Determination of Acetylsalicylic Acid and Salicylic Acid in Human Plasma BY LC-MS/MS

An LC-MS/MS method has been developed and validated for the measurement of ASA and SA in human plasma over the range of 20 - 10000 ng/mL for ASA and 50 - 50000 ng/mL for SA. ASA and SA have been shown to be stable in human plasma treated with PMSF under all conditions tested. 1. Wet ice bath stability in plasma: 8 hours; 2. Freeze/Thaw stability: 4 cycles at -70 deg C; 3. Reinjection reproducibility: 189 hours at 4 deg C; 4. Long-term frozen stability: 39 days at -20 deg C and -70 deg C. The assay was successfully applied to support bioequivalence studies.
