摘要

The generation and the use of Gold nanoparticles is of increasing importance for various applications e.g.cell imaging, diagnostics and targeted drug delivery. In this study we generated pure pure gold nanoparticles by a novel ultra short pulsed laserablation method without the use of any chemical precursors. In order to clarify whether these gold nanoparticles possibly alter the essential biochemical functionality of biomolecules -due to their electron accepting properties- we analysed the interaction of these gold nanoparticles with a recombinant plasmid DNA, encoding for the canine HMGB1 fused to green fluorescence (GFP) protein. HMGB1 proteins are a non-hi stone chromosomal architectural transcription factors able to induce DNA conformation changes and thus playing an important role in the regulation of transcription, cell-proliferation and differentiation.
