Platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR)-beta is expressed by endothelial cell precursors and contributes to endothelial cell development and function. Previously, we determined that PDGFR-beta is expressed by canine hemangiosarcoma cell linesand appears to be constitutively activated (phosphorylated). We and others also detected widespread expression of PDGFR-beta within fresh hemangiosarcoma biopsies. This study further explores the role of PDGFR-beta as an oncoprotein in hemangiosarcoma.
