CHEST FILM: ADVANCED CANINE FELINE THORACIC IMAGING FOR THE SPECIALIST

Newer CT technologies offer the opportunity for faster, higher resolution imaging. These improvements will often result in a set of CT images that can be reconstructed into different planes, surface rendered 3-D or virtual endoscopic image sets. A device has been design and tested for awake imaging cats and smaller canine patients. Imaging case examples are provided demonstrating the utility of advanced awake CT imaging. The goal of all these new imaging technology is to provide an improved diagnosis minimizing client cost, patient morbidity and time. Initial studies offer hope that newer technologies and use of restraint devices may provide the window to improved CT imaging of dog and cat patients with respiratory diseases.
