The authors describe the rare case of a 51-year-old woman with intraspinal schwannoma associated with hydrocephalus. She was admitted to our hospital with persistent severe headache. The brain CT scan showed the ventricular enlargement and lumbar MRI showed a intra-dural extramedullary mass located between first lumbar spine and third lumbar spine. The various explanations about the pathogenesis of the hydrocephalus associated with the intraspinal tumor and the management of these condition are discussed.
