摘要

Coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) microscopy provides in vivo and in situ images of cells and biological tissues with high molecular specificity. However, it usually focuses on a particular vibrational mode such as the CH stretch mode. Recently, we have developed a CARS microspectroscopy system using a nanosecond white light laser source. This system enables us to investigate the molecular structure, such as the secondary structure of proteins and the alkyl chain packing, of biological samples by providing multi-color images of the fingerprint vibrational modes. In the present study, we apply CARS microspectroscopy to human hair.
