Activities in support of ASME's new allowable stress criterion at PVRC and MPC

ASME is now moving to implement allowable stresses which consider lower divisors on tensile strength. PVRC has extensively studied the advisability of higher design stresses and examined the methods of overseas Codes and Standards. A summary ofthe studies is presented.
