A Method of Prioritizing Intersection Improvement in Satellite Cities Based on Risk Management

Traffic in satellite cities has a tidal characteristic. It's necessary for satellite cities to improve traffic conditions in the intersections to ensure efficiency and security at the same time. This paper provides a method to prioritize intersection improvement. Risk management is used to evaluate the risk of each intersection, while specific models are selected based on the case of Nanqiao City (a satellite city of Shanghai). Then, simulation is used to evaluate the efficiency of intersections. After that, a model is established to prioritize intersections with the results of risk and efficiency evaluations. Finally, some response is considered according to the result of the prioritization.
