Study on the Operational Status of Shanghai EVCARD Electric Vehicle Car-Sharing Project

This paper analyzes the operational status of Shanghai EVCARD electric vehicle car-sharing project from four aspects of project profile, general overview of operation, operational features, and user behavioral characteristics by using a one-year order data of EVCARD users. Selecting outlets and users as research objects, we carry out the research on the setup and operation of outlets, as well as behavioral characteristics of users. By introducing the concept of NC (number of correlation), it is concluded that the correlation between outlets has been increasing with time while the proportion of central city outlets is relatively low, and the distribution among the whole city is not enough. Individual users are roughly divided into four major categories according to total time and daily time of vehicle use. The results show the users' different needs and consumption patterns. Operators can thus accordingly put forward different incentive strategies to provide diversified services.
