The Establishment of Yunnan Pavement Management System Via Transplanting and Applying HDM-III Model

This article concerns The Yunnan Pavement Maintenance Management System (YPMS), which is a research project of Sino-British governmental science and technology co-operation, which aims of establishing a strategy means optimized for the maintenance and rehabilitation of grading pavement. The task group has succeeded in transplanting HDM-III to Yunna province of China, and has set up a location pavement management system - YPMS. Works that have been done for more than two years involve collecting and verifying data from 4375 km asphalt pavement of the mainly road in Yunnan, surveying the vehicle operation cost, and developing the program joined both systems of HDM-III and YPMS, based upon which come the 1991-plan of the road maintenance and rehabilitation and the scheme of the maintenance investment from 1991 to 2000, a system of objective and accurate data for Yunnan Road Bureau.
