The Yesanpo National Geopark is positioned in the junction of the Taihangshan fault lifted block and the Yanshan platform fold belt. The Zijingguan Major Fault borders the two structural domains. In the Park, there are plenty of geological relics, all of them are the extracts from the geology of North China. There are 4stage-structrual joint sets in a large scale. They are closely related to the compressions from South China plate in Indusinian, the Izanagi plate in Yanshanian, the Pacific plate in North China period and the Indian plate in the Himalayan period. The 4-stage-8tructural joint sets, especially the N-S trending "trace tensional joints" played a leading role controlling the structural geomorphology of the National Geopark region.
