Do Networks Work – Towards best practicein MNT networks

摘要

Networks are being set up by regional and national governments to encourage therndevelopment of industries based on MNT and ultimately to create economic benefitrnfor the region. This papers shows that such networks are constructed from a numberrnof nodes that contribute resources and that there are best practices that can be adoptedrnto improve the performance of the nodes such as clear technology focus, effectivernmanagement and investment. The factors that lead to successful networks are alsorndiscussed and examples are presented. Such factors include dissemination ofrninformation across the technology supply chain and tight coupling of nodes within thernnetwork.
