摘要

Feedstock characterization is an important first step towards establishing process control limits in powder injection molding. The use of pycnometer density has been proposed as a tool to model and predict shrinkage behavior. This study evaluates several parameters including sample size, shape, sample preparation, and their effects on the test repeatability and reproducibility. The results are used to predict the statistical confidence level for pycnometer density as a predictive tool.
