    • 摘要: The provision of water and sanitation services is a key challenge worldwide.The size,complexity,and critical nature of the water and wastewater infrastructure providing such services make the planning and management of these systems extremely difficult.Following the digital revolution in many areas of our lives,the water sector has begun to benefit from digital transformation.Effective utilization of remotely sensed weather and soil moisture data for more efficient irrigation(i.e.,for food production),better detection of anomalies and faults in pipe networks using artificial intelligence,the use of nature-inspired optimization to improve the management and planning of systems,and greater use of digital twins and robotics all exhibit great potential to change and improve the ways in which complex water systems are managed.However,there are additional risks associated with these developments,including—but not limited to—cybersecurity,incorrect use,and overconfidence in the capability and accuracy of digital solutions and automation.This paper identifies key advances in digital technology that have found application in the water sector,and applies forensic engineering principles to failures that have been experienced in industries further ahead with automation and digital transformation.By iden-tifying what went wrong with new digital technologies that might have contributed to high-profile acci-dents in the car and aircraft industries(e.g.,Tesla self-driving cars and the Boeing 737 MAX),it is possible to identify similar risks in the water sector,learn from them,and prevent future failures.The key findings show that:①Automation will require“humans in the loop”;②human operators must be fully aware of the technology and trained to use it;③fallback manual intervention should be available in case of tech-nology malfunctioning;④while redundant sensors may be costly,they reduce the risks due to erroneous sensor readings;⑤cybersecurity risks must be considered;and⑥ethics issues have to be considered,given the increasing automation and interconnectedness of water systems.These findings also point to major research areas related to digital transformation in the water sector.

    • 摘要: Internet-of-Things(IoT)has attained a major share in embedded software development.The new era of specialized intelligent systems requires adaptation of customized software engineering approaches.Currently,software engineering has merged the development phases with the technologies provided by industrial automation.The improvements are still required in testing phase for the software developed to IoT solutions.This research aims to assist in developing the testing strategies for IoT applications,therein ontology has been adopted as a knowledge representation technique to different software engineering processes.The proposed ontological model renders 101 methodology by using Protégé.After completion,the ontology was evaluated in three-dimensional view by the domain experts of software testing,IoT and ontology engineering.Satisfied results of the research are showed in interest of the specialists regarding proposed ontology development and suggestions for improvements.The Proposed reasoning-based ontological model for development of testing strategies in IoT application contributes to increase the general understanding of tests in addition to assisting for the development of testing strategies for different IoT devices.

    • 摘要: Based on updating of new generation weather radar software,compilation system of new generation weather radar case data could automatically back up data and compile radar case.Using C language and VC++6.0 development technology,the software realizes the automatic sorting and saving of radar base data,radar products and radar status information on different machines every day,and automatically creates various folders and files required for compiling data.By inputting the days,date,start and end times,renaming and compression of the base data,product data and status information could be automatically completed,to realize automation,batch,process and standardization of case data compilation.Since putting into the radar business,the operation has been stable and reliable.The working efficiency of business personnel has been improved,and a large number of manpower has been saved.It can be transplanted and popularized in other new generation weather radar stations.

    • 摘要: Laser cutting is a non-contact thermal cutting process and an integral part of manufacturing. In metal processing, laser cutting is at the forefront of the manufacturing chain followed by joining and manufacturing processes like welding. The future of metal manufacturing processes like laser cutting shall rely on intelligent systems such as automation and robotics based on the advancement of technology and digital transformation spearheaded by Industry 4.0. Moreover, the digital transition where robots and automated systems are key drivers creates a broader platform to utilize energy-efficiency materials. Such energy-efficient materials include high-strength steels (HSS) for structural applications (e.g. bio-energy structures, wind turbines, ice-going vessels) onshore, offshore and in the Arctic region. The aim of this paper is to elucidate the prospects of robot laser cutting systems in the framework of integrated metal manufacturing in future factories. Previous studies on laser cutting technologies are examined based on scientific and industrial perspectives. Robot laser cutting system is compared with the well-known flat-bed laser cutting CNC machine in several aspects including flexibility in manufacturing, ease for digitalization, off-line capabilities and investment analysis. The findings shall help to determine the competitiveness of robot laser cutting systems with flat-bed laser cutting CNC machines, especially when considering metal manufacturing in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The outcome of this study is to stir up experimental and computational research on robot laser cutting systems of metals, and help companies in their decision-making process when deciding which laser cutting system will best suit their manufacturing operations in the future.

    • 摘要: Glazes on ceramics provide a durable finish as well as a protective layer, impervious, sanitary, and generally easily cleaned surface, have the advantage of having a very wide spectrum of colors. As a result, color has a lot of variability, luminosity and permanence. This method of coating is suitable for products that are not too big a smooth and can be done quickly such as plating of coffee mugs, cups or bowls. Putting the product in the enameled tank must not be soaked for too long as it will thicken the coating. When the coating is dry it will slip off easily. Therefore, this research is to provide product dipping. Good and consistent plating at all times and then industrial robots are used to help in plating or dipping. The robot can control the work quickly. According to the position and speed control can reduce the working time in the further.

    • 摘要: This work is a contribution to the study of hybrid systems for converting solar and wind energy into electricity in Burkina Faso. The approach consists of evaluating and analyzing the production of a wind turbine and a solar field in order to optimize the production of all the technologies. The results obtained made it possible to evaluate the operating performance of the installation and to show the complementarity between the two energy sources with regard to temporary and seasonal variations in resources. During nighttime periods or periods of low sunlight, the wind turbine is a good alternative to energy storage by batteries, the output of the wind turbine can be up to 853.76 W. It was also a question of proposing solutions for optimizing the hybrid system through the automation of the hybrid charge regulator. A minimum height of 30 m above the ground has been chosen as the optimum height for the wind turbine.
