    • 摘要: The poor state of the environment,especially in urban areas,has become a major global issue,with developing countries such as Nigeria voicing growing concern.There is a scarcity of knowledge on the environmental impact of PFSs as a result of the loss of life and property,as well as other serious socio-economic implications of non-compliance with PFSs siting criteria.The historical literature on the impact of residential buildings,the environment,and human health on PFSs in Nigeria,as well as the study’s gap,is examined in this research.It also outlines DPR compliance with PFSs location as well as established criteria for prohibiting PFS siting in Nigeria’s states.Relevant publications on PFSs-related topics were downloaded from Google Scholar.The goal of this study is to look back on a previous essay about PFSs in Nigeria and its impacts on the environment and human health.This study’s main purpose is to give a complete overview of Nigerian PFSs.According to the article analyzed,the majority of PFSs were located close to residents,with setbacks from the road and residential areas of less than 30 m in 90%of the filling stations.As a result,the landowners can band together to argue that a facility that is improperly sited cannot be built.A great deal of public participation is required.A campaign should be launched to raise awareness among filling station owners and other developers of the dangers of non-compliance with established norms.All violators of the established norms,as well as corrupt officials of enforcement agencies/bodies,should face open punishment so that others might learn their lessons.Finally,appropriate planning is required to allow future road expansion.

    • 摘要: The objective of this work is to dry the mushrooms to evaluate the impact of drying on them. The drying of mushrooms in the oven, in the solar dryer and in the microwave indicated that for Termitomyces sp. the total polyphenol contents were 15.20 mgEAG/gMs for the microwave drying (280 W), 13.61 mgEAG/gMs for the oven drying (60°C), and 9.81 mgEAG/gMs for the solar dryer drying (40°C). For Pleurotus sp., the contents obtained were 13.79 mgEAG/gMs for microwave drying (280 W), 8.36 mgEAG/gMs for oven drying (60°C) and 8.98 mgEAG/gMs for solar drying (40°C). Regarding flavonoids, for Termitomyces sp., this revealed 0.5797 mgECa/gMs for microwave drying (280 W), 0.729 mgECa/gMs for oven drying (60°C) and 0.5671 mgECa/gMs for solar drying (40°C). The flavonoid contents for Pleurotus sp. gave 0.842 mgECa/gMs for microwave drying (280 W), 1.06 mgECa/gMs for oven drying (60°C) and, 0.425 mgECa/gMs for solar drying (40°C). For Termitomyces sp., the levels of free radical scavenging activity varied from 13.02 mg/mL for microwave drying, 25.08 mg/mL for oven drying, and 22.25 mg/mL for solar drying;while for Pleurotus sp., 15.96 mg/mL for microwave drying, 39.90 mg/mL for oven drying, and 31.60 mg/mL for solar drying.

    • 摘要: Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a massive influx of patients with suspected or confirmed flu to hospitals, paradoxically leading to a decrease in the attendance for some services. This study aspired to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the attendance of patients at the Radiology and Medical Imaging Department of a tertiary hospital in Douala, Cameroon. Materials and Methods: This was an observational, retrospective and descriptive hospital-based study. Data on patient attendance was extracted from the medical records at the Radiology Unit of Douala Gyneco-Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital (DGOPH) between the 1st of March 2019 and the 30th of August 2021. Results: There was a drop in the number of sonographies and conventional radiographies by 25.73% and 18.26% respectively during the peaks pandemic period of 2020 compared to the preceding pre-pandemic era (2019). There was a recovery in 2021 as the numbers increased. Computed tomography studies increased by 40.65% during the peak pandemic period of 2020. Conclusion: This study enables us to understand the health-seeking behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic. The increase in CT utilization during the peak period of the pandemic nevertheless required caution in order to ensure safety and to promote rational cost-effective utilization.

    • 摘要: The GM(1,1)grey model was used to simulate and divide the harvest years of black-skinned sugarcane yield in Wengyuan County during 2006-2021.Based on the meteorological observation data of Wengyuan County during the same period,the impact of major meteorological disasters such as drought,flood and frost in the growth period of black-skinned sugarcane was analyzed.It is believed that the instability of black-skinned sugarcane yield was affected by comprehensive meteorological factors.It is necessary to master the characteristics of local meteorological disasters,conduct scientific cultivation according to local conditions,and continuously improve the meteorological service level of black-skinned sugarcane cultivation.

    • 摘要: Construction projects are among the riskiest projects, which require the application of the right rules and to abide by the proper safety standards. Thus, this study aims to study the impact of COVID-19 on the construction and engineering companies due to the Corona pandemic in the Gaza Strip, and introducing the means used in dealing with this pandemic and how to avoid, limit and deal with it. And to shed light on the most important obstacles and challenges facing the construction sector in the light of the outbreak of the epidemic. To achieve this, a cross-sectional study based on an online questionnaire was conducted by Google Forms. Then, the data collected was analyzed using the thematic analysis approach. The results show that best procedures to mitigate the impact of this epidemic and to prioritize the safety and health of employees in contracting and engineering companies, to provide a safe work environment and developing plans to confront the spread of injury in the work-environment. The study recommends that government may provide financial support to companies and reduce taxes imposed on them in order to be able to confront this pandemic.

    • 摘要: Introduction: In Senegal, at the end of 2020, there were a cumulative 18,728 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 390 deaths. Patients with cardiovascular disease were the most affected by this morbidity and mortality. This is why we were given the objective of analyzing the effect of COVID-19 on the hospital activities of a cardiology service in Senegal. In this case that of the General Idrissa Pouye Hospital (HOGIP), by comparing admissions, deaths, average monthly length of stay and overall annual mortality of the service in 2020 with each of the four previous years. Methodology: This was a descriptive study from January 2016 to December 2020 by retrospective data collection. The collection ran from January 5, 2021 to March 30, 2021. Statistical analysis was performed with Rstudio 4.1.0 statistical analysis software. We expressed these variables as their absolute values and then we calculated the difference between the absolute value of 2020 and that of each of the previous years, both on a monthly and annual scale for each of the variables. Finally, we calculated the annual global mortality (each year from 2012 to 2020). Results: The total number of admissions in 2020 was significantly lower than in 2016 (-7.59%), 2017 (-8.78%) and 2018 (-2.16%). On the other hand, it was clearly higher than that of 2019 (+12.83%). A record in admissions was found during the month of December 2020 compared to 2016 (+64.70%), 2017 (+95.34%), 2018 (+127.02%) and 2019 (+127.02%). The average monthly length of stay in 2020 was less than or equal to those of 2016 (-7.62%), 2017 (-8.57%), 2018 (-3.03%) and 2019 (-0.00%). The total number of annual deaths in 2020 was significantly lower than in 2016 (-24.39%), 2017 (-27.06%), 2018 (-39.81%) and 2019 (-23.46%). Over the 5 years of our study, the year 2020 was the least lethal in service with an overall annual mortality of 9.79%. Conclusion: COVID-19 being a viral transmissible pathology with pulmonary tropism, its mortality is due to both respiratory failure and cardiovascular damage. Its morbidity and mortality are supported by major non-communicable diseases and their risk factors (Heart disease, Asthma, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Diabetes, Smoking, Obesity, etc.). It, therefore, follows that the considerable drop in overall annual mortality in the service in 2020 can only be explained by a massive diversion of patients, to epidemic treatment centers and infectious diseases services, who should have, in normal times, been taken care of in cardiology departments until November 2020. In conclusion, we will say that the authorities should not relegate to the background, at any time, the fight against major non-communicable diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases, even in times of an infectious disease pandemic. They should capacity early cardiology services to maintain the offer of care and follow-up even in infectious and contagious contexts.
