    • 摘要: The IEEE 802.11n standard has provided prominent features that greatly contribute to ubiquitous wireless networks.Over the last ten years,voice over IP(VoIP)has become widespread around the globe owing to its low-cost or even free call rate.The combination of these technologies(VoIP and wireless)has become desirable and inevitable for organizations.However,VoIP faces a bandwidth utilization issue when working with 802.11 wireless networks.The bandwidth utilization is inefficient on the grounds that(i)80 bytes of 802.11/RTP/UDP/IP header is appended to 10–730 bytes of VoIP payload and(ii)765μs waiting intervals follow each 802.11 VoIP frame.Without considering the quality requirements of a VoIP call,be including frame aggregation in the IEEE 802.11n standard has been suggested as a solution for the bandwidth utilization issue.Consequently,several aggregation methods have been proposed to handle the quality requirements of VoIP calls when carried over an IEEE 802.11n wireless network.In this survey,we analyze the existing aggregation methods of VoIP over the A-MSDU IEEE 802.11n wireless standard.The survey provides researchers with a detailed analysis of the bandwidth utilization issue concerning the A-MSDU 802.11n standard,discussion of the main approaches of frame aggregation methods and existing aggregation methods,elaboration of the impact of frame aggregation methods on network performance and VoIP call quality,and suggestion of new areas to be investigated in conjunction with frame aggregation.The survey contributes by offering guidelines to design an appropriate,reliable,and robust aggregation method of VoIP over 802.11n standard.

    • 摘要: IEEE802.11n协议的MAC层增强为长距离单向链路提供了高吞吐量,使其具备了用于长距离宽带接入的基本条件.针对长距离下侦听失效和ACK超时的问题,调整不同距离下的帧间距和ACKTimeout.在确保侦听有效和ACK不超时的前提下,建立基于退避时间和退避等级的二维Markov模型,计算了带有DCF功能的长距离802.11n双向链路的吞吐量和时延.同时,优化最小竞争窗口和最大重传次数,提升了链路性能.结果表明,优化参数后802.11n协议在长距离双向链路中的性能较好,具有一定实用性.%The IEEE802.1 in protocol with MAC enhance providing high throughput to long-range unidirectional link,has the basic condition for long-distance broadband access.The frame spacing and ACKTimeout at different distances was adjusted for the problems of long-range listening failure and ACK timeout.The two-dimensional Markov model based on backoff time and backoff level was established under the premise of ensuring that the listening was valid and the ACK was not timed.The throughput and delay of the long-distance 802.1 1n bidirectional link with DCF function were calculated.The minimum number of competing windows and the maximum number of retransmissions was optimized to improve link performance.The results show that the 802.11n protocol has better performance in long distance bidirectional link and certain practicability.

    • 摘要: IEEE802.11n-2009,adding the functions of frame aggregation and block ACK,realizing the MAC layer enhancement and increasing network throughput dramatically,provides better performance in long-distance wireless networks.We demonstrated that the node using frame aggregation and block ACK is observably higher than without them by the calculation and simulation of channel utilization.The simulation results also show that the faster transfer speed and the bigger aggregated frame achieve higher throughput,and this superiority increases as the distance gets further.%IEEE802.11n-2009在传统802.11协议上添加了帧聚合和块回复功能,实现了MAC层增强,显著提高了网络吞吐量,使其更加适用于长距离无线网络.通过长距离(45km)无线链路信道利用率的理论计算和网络仿真,论证了节点采用帧聚合与块回复功能时的信道利用率明显优于不采用的情况.仿真结果进一步表明,速率越高、聚合帧越大在长距离传输时的吞吐量越高,且距离越远时帧聚合的优势越明显.
