    • 摘要: A good artificial boundary treatment in a seismic wave grid-based numerical simulation can reduce the size of the computational region and increase the computational efficiency,which is becoming increasingly important for seismic migration and waveform inversion tasks requiring hundreds or thousands of simulations.Two artificial boundary techniques are commonly used:perfectly matched layers(PMLs),which exhibit the excellent absorption performance but impose a greater computational burden by using finite layers to gradually reduce wave amplitudes;and absorbing boundary conditions(ABCs),which have the high computational efficiency but are less effective in absorption because they employ the one-way wave equation at the exterior boundary.Naturally,PMLs have been combined with ABCs to reduce the number of PMLs,thus improving the computational efficiency;many studies have proposed such hybrid PMLs.Depending on the equations from which the ABCs are derived,there are two hybrid PML variants:the PML+unstretched ABC(UABC),in which the ABC is derived from a physical equation;or the PML+stretched ABC(SABC),in which the ABC is derived from the PML equation.Even though all the previous studies concluded that hybrid PMLs can improve the absorption performance,none of them quantified how many PMLs can be removed by combining the PML with the ABC compared with the pure PML.In this paper,we systematically study the absorption performance of the two hybrid PML variants.We develop a method to distinguish the artificial reflections from the PML-interior interface and those caused by the PML exterior boundary to accurately approximate the additional absorption achieved by using the UABC and the SABC.The reflection coefficients based on a theoretical derivation and numerical tests both show that the UABC amplifies most reflections and is not recommended in any situation;conversely,the SABC can always diminish reflections,but the additional absorption achieved by the SABC is relatively poor and cannot effectively reduce the number of PMLs.In contrast,we find that simply increasing the damping parameter improves absorption better than the PML+SABC.Our results show that the improvement in absorption achieved by combining the PML with either the SABC or the UABC is not better than that obtained by simply adjusting the damping profile of the PML;thus,combining the PML with the ABC is not recommended in practice.

    • 摘要: Solution processability and flexibility still remain major challenges for many thermoelectric(TE)materials,including bismuth telluride(Bi_(2)Te_(3)),a typical and commercially available TE material.Here,we report a new solutionprocessed method to prepare a flexible film of a Bi_(2)Te_(3)/single-walled carbon nanotube(SWCNT)hybrid,where the dissolved Bi_(2)Te_(3) ion precursors are mixed with dispersed SWCNTs in solution and recrystallized on the SWCNT surfaces to form a“cement-rebar”-like architecture.The hybrid film shows an n-type characteristic,with a stable Seebeck coefficient of^(−1)00.00±1.69μVK^(−1) in air.Furthermore,an extremely low in-plane thermal conductivity of∼0.33Wm^(−1) K^(−1) is achieved at 300 K,and the figure of merit(ZT)reaches 0.47±0.02.In addition,the TE performance is independent of mechanical bending.The unique“cement-rebar”-like architecture is believed to be responsible for the excellent TE performances and the high flexibility.The results provide a new avenue for the fabrication of solution-processable and flexible TE hybrid films and will speed up the applications of flexible electronics and energy conversion.

    • 摘要: Multistep integration methods are being extensively used in the simulations of high dimensional systems due to their lower computational cost.The block methods were developed with the intent of obtaining numerical results on numerous points at a time and improving computational efficiency.Hybrid block methods for instance are specifically used in numerical integration of initial value problems.In this paper,an optimized hybrid block Adams block method is designed for the solutions of linear and nonlinear first-order initial value problems in ordinary differential equations(ODEs).In deriving themethod,the Lagrange interpolation polynomial was employed based on some data points to replace the differential equation function and it was integrated over a specified interval.Furthermore,the convergence properties along with the region of stability of the method were examined.It was concluded that the newly derived method is convergent,consistent,and zero-stable.The method was also found to be A-stable implying that it covers the whole of the left/negative half plane.From the numerical computations of absolute errors carried out using the newly derived method,it was found that the method performed better than the ones with which we compared our results with.Themethod also showed its superiority over the existing methods in terms of stability and convergence.

    • 摘要: Metaheuristic algorithms are one of the methods used to solve optimization problems and find global or close to optimal solutions at a reasonable computational cost.As with other types of algorithms,in metaheuristic algorithms,one of the methods used to improve performance and achieve results closer to the target result is the hybridization of algorithms.In this study,a hybrid algorithm(HSSJAYA)consisting of salp swarm algorithm(SSA)and jaya algorithm(JAYA)is designed.The speed of achieving the global optimum of SSA,its simplicity,easy hybridization and JAYA’s success in achieving the best solution have given us the idea of creating a powerful hybrid algorithm from these two algorithms.The hybrid algorithm is based on SSA’s leader and follower salp system and JAYA’s best and worst solution part.HSSJAYA works according to the best and worst food source positions.In this way,it is thought that the leader-follower salps will find the best solution to reach the food source.The hybrid algorithm has been tested in 14 unimodal and 21 multimodal benchmark functions.The results were compared with SSA,JAYA,cuckoo search algorithm(CS),firefly algorithm(FFA)and genetic algorithm(GA).As a result,a hybrid algorithm that provided results closer to the desired fitness value in benchmark functions was obtained.In addition,these results were statistically compared using wilcoxon rank sum test with other algorithms.According to the statistical results obtained from the results of the benchmark functions,it was determined that HSSJAYA creates a statistically significant difference in most of the problems compared to other algorithms.

    • 摘要: Synthetic varieties(SVs)are populations generated by randomly mating their parents.They are a good alternative for low-input farmers who grow onions,maize,and other allogamous crops since the seed produced by a SV does not change from one generation to the next.Although SV progenitors are commonly pure lines,in this case a synthetic(Syn_(TC))whose parents are t three-way line crosses,a very common type of maize hybrid grown in Mexico,is studied.The aim was to develop a general and exact equation for the inbreeding coefficient of a Syn_(TC)eF_(m)^(f)Syn_(TC)T because of its relationship with the mean of economically important traits.This objective arose due to the need for a more advanced study in terms of determining whether F_(m)^(f)Syn_(TC)can be applied specifically and accurately for any number of parents(t),plants per parent(m)and inbreeding coefficient(IC)of the initial lines(F_(L)).A formula for the IC of the Syn_(TC)was derived that,given any values of F_(L)(0≤F_(L)≤1)and t,is specific for any value of m,not just for“large”numbers associated with the context in which the Hardy-Weinberg law is stated.It was found that F_(m)^(f)Syn_(TC)is very sensitive to changes in m when m is not greater than eight,after which it tends to stabilize very quickly.In summary,unlike previously derived formulas,F_(m)^(f)Syn_(TC)is exact for any values of t,m and F_(L).

    • 摘要: In this study, a revised version of some numerical methods for a class of hybrid integro-differential equations with weakly singular kernels (Abel types) is presented. These equations were developed from a class of integro-differential equations of first kind originating from an aeroelasticity problem. By manipulating the bounds of initial conditions with random variations, this study numerically demonstrated the well-posedness properties of the equations. Finally, an assumption of separating variables, allowed for linear splines to be chosen as a basis and for the differentiation and integration of the integro-differential part to be interchanged;hence, a numerical scheme was constructed.

    • 摘要: Dear editor,This letter presents a practical industrial process identification scheme.More specifically,to improve the identification accuracy of practical process,a decoupled identification scheme is developed based on neural fuzzy network and autoregressive exogenous(ARX)model,which is based on multi-signal sources.The multiple signal sources include binary signals and random signals.Experimental results of pH neutralization process show that developed identification scheme can provide accurate identification accuracy.
