摘要:
The main aim of this paper is to study the effect of building envelope constructed with different materials on thermal comfort of buildings located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Four different buildings constructed with brick, glass, stone, and gypsum are taken into account to study the difference in temperature of the indoor and outdoor environments. Also, this paper explores the heat conducted by walls of different materials with different thicknesses. In addition, survey is conducted among the residents of Jeddah to know their perspective about thermal comfort of buildings. From the study, it is found that building envelope constructed with glass is more effective compared to envelope constructed with other materials of with least thickness of wall. Also, it is found that the envelope constructed with brick is more effective in absorbing the heat provided the thickness of the walls remains the same.

Helium-3(3He)is a noble gas that has critical applications in scientific research and promising application potential as clean fusion energy.It is thought that the lunar regolith contains large amounts of helium,but it is challenging to extract because most helium atoms are reserved in defects of crystals or as solid solutions.Here,we find large amounts of helium bubbles in the glassy surface layer of ilmenite particles that were brought back by the Chang’E-5 mission.The special disordered atomic packing structure of glasses should be the critical factor for capturing the noble helium gas.The reserves in bubbles do not require heating to high temperatures to be extracted.Mechanical methods at ambient temperatures can easily break the bubbles.Our results provide insights into the mechanism of helium gathering on the moon and offer guidance on future in situ extraction.

As a typical brittle material,glass is widely used in construction,transportation,shipbuilding,aviation,aerospace and other industries.The unsafe factors of glass mainly come from its rupture.Thus,establishing a set of prediction models for the cracks growth of glass under dynamic load is necessary.This paper presents a contact damage model for glass based on the ordinary state-based peridynamic theory by introducing a contact force function.The Hertz contact(nonembedded contact)problem is simulated,and the elastic contact force is determined by adjusting the penalty factor.The proposed model verifies the feasibility of penalty-based method to simulate the contact problem of glass.The failure process of glass specimen under impact is simulated,where two loading methods,the drop ball test and the split Hopkinson pressure bar are considered.Numerical results agree well with the experimental observations,thereby verifying the effectiveness of the proposed model.

The prevalence of cases of antibiotic resistant infections and the limited number of new antibiotics call for new strategies to prevent bacterial infections. In this study, we evaluate the effectiveness of three different compositions of bioactive glass, doped with silver as an antimicrobial agent for potential applications in preventing bacterial infections. The different glasses were formulated to dissolve and release silver at different rates enabling their use in different applications either individually or in combination to achieve a desired effect. Silver oxide (Ag2O) was incorporated into various glass formulations and antibacterial effectiveness was measured using radius of inhibition. Each silver-doped glass effectively inhibited the growth of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa with radius of inhibition correlating directly with the dissolution rate of the glass—the faster dissolving glass producing the larger radius of inhibition. Suspending particles of the silver containing glass in phosphate buffered saline or fetal calf serum, slowed the dissolution of each glass and extended the effectiveness of the silver containing glass over time (based on size of the radius of inhibition) compared to water. Potential applications of the powdered glass formulations would be to incorporate glasses with different properties into coatings or cosmetics. To investigate the feasibility of these applications, the silver-glass powder was incorporated into polycaprolactone polymer to determine the antibacterial properties of the imbedded glass powder. Based on this investigation, the silver glass formulations reported herein have potential applications in the medical device, dental, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

对比分析了青藏高原MODIS地表反照率产品和GLASS地表反照率产品的空间分布连续性、高质量反演结果的比例,应用青藏高原CAMP/Tibet试验期间的高精度观测数据评估了两种产品的精度,通过人工目视解译MODIS地表反射率图像并结合MODIS积雪产品分析了影响两种产品精度的原因,结果表明:1)GLASS地表反照率产品具有比MODIS地表反照率产品更好的空间分布连续性和更高的反演质量;2)绝大多数时段内两种产品都能与地面观测结果保持较好的一致性,能准确地反映地表反照率的异常变化过程;3)局地积雪是影响两种产品精度的重要因素之一;4)积雪条件下,GLASS地表反照率反演算法比MODIS地表反照率反演算法更具优势.研究结果有助于促进人们对地表反照率卫星遥感反演产品的认识,改进青藏高原地表反照率卫星遥感反演算法,提高青藏高原地表反照率卫星遥感反演结果的精度、反演质量和空间分布连续性.

本文比较分析了三种基于MODIS数据生成的LAI遥感产品(MOD15 LAI、MCD15 LAI和GLASS LAI)在浙江省的差异;以地面观测的LAI结合TM遥感数据生成的30 m分辨率LAI数据(LAITM)为参考,评价了它们在浙江省天童山常绿阔叶林地区的可靠性.研究发现,三种LAI遥感产品在可靠性、大小、空间格局及变化趋势上均存在显著差异:GLASS LAI表现优于MOD15 LAI和MCD15 LAI,GLASS LAI与LAITM具有较好的相关性(R2=0.61,RMSE=1.20),而MOD15 LAI和MCD15 LAI与LAITM的一致性较差(RMSE分别为1.42和1.63).2003—2012年期间,基于GLASS LAI得到的浙江省LAI年平均值(2.13 m2/m2)分别高出MOD15 LAI和MCD15 LAI约23% 和12%;而GLASS LAI年最大值的10年平均值(3.82 m2/m2)比MOD15 LAI和MCD15 LAI的值都偏低约30%.2003—2012年期间,GLASS LAI年平均值在浙江省显著升高和下降的面积比例分别为16.6% 和14.7%;MOD15 LAI和MCD15 LAI分别在全省21.8% 和13.7% 的地区呈明显下降趋势,明显升高地区分别仅占1.2% 和4.0%.三种LAI遥感产品的全省年平均值方面,GLASS LAI具有较大的年际波动,但趋势不明显;MCD15 LAI略有下降;而MOD15 LAI呈现较为明显的下降趋势(0.02 m2/m2,P=0.06).

本发明公开了一种基于Glass/AuNSts‑SLG的SERS机理检测溶液中的罗丹明B的分析检测方法。借助表面增强拉曼光谱(SERS)技术,以AuNSts‑SLG为拉曼信号增强模块,利用自制样品前处理仪与便携式拉曼光谱检测仪,实现对溶液中RB的快速检测,通过对溶液中RB的检测并将结果与成熟的实验室液相色谱法相比较,发现本检测方法样品前处理简单,耗时少,检测结果准确可靠,且仪器设备便携、易操作,未来可用于食品中RB的现场快速筛查或实验室预检。
