    • 摘要: There is a perpetual problem of partial or complete roof collapse within the Tamale Metropolis and other parts of Ghana.This has become an issue of grave public concern since this menace affects both public buildings of all kinds(schools,offices,churches,mosque etc.)as well as domestic buildings.This research sets out to conduct comprehensive investigations into the nature of roof failures,causes,and effects and then propose remedial actions towards stemming the tide.The study employed the use of roof construction affirmation surveys,questionnaires,interviews and focus group discussions.Relevant information synthesized indicates that the roof type,construction materials,building type and environmental conditions are crucial causative factors.Major consequences of roof failures include damage to personal belongings and exposure to inclement weather conditions,the psychological trauma victims are subjected and pressure on incomes and living conditions as a result of the cost of repair or replacement of the roofs.It is recommended that expert advice be sought in checking maintenance requirements of existing roofs in the study area and also during the design and construction of new roofs.Tree planting programmes for this heavily deforested region should be encouraged.The use of green timber for roof construction must be replaced with well-seasoned ones.Proper construction detailing and placement openings buildings should be done so that wind flow during a windstorm is optimized.

    • 摘要: Burkina Faso conducted a community selection of the indigent in eight health districts. The selection targeted 15% to 20% indigent per district. This study analyzed the data of this selection from the databases of the Ministry of Health. Descriptive analysis and time series modeling were performed. Indigents were predominantly female, heads of household were mostly elderly, and the average age of household members ranged from 21.9 to 29.8 years. The households were small. Indigents were mostly uneducated and employed. They all belonged to a given religious denomination, Muslims were the most numerous. The majority of the indigents were married and almost a quarter of them were widows. About 2% to 17% of indigents were selected depending on the district. Forecasts showed both an increase and a decrease in the use of health care by indigents. The study recommends considering the poverty level specific to each district when selecting, strengthening education policies targeting the indigent, improving the socio-health conditions of the indigent including specific actions considering age, sex and marital status, and the formulation of an employment policy targeting the indigent. Analyzes of the relationship between poverty and religion may allow the exploitation of religious capital for the benefit of the indigent.

    • 摘要: The LNG Receiving Station project in Shenzhen is located in a land reclamation area with complicated geological conditions.The thickness of diaphragm wall is 1.5 m,the depth is up to 62 m,and is extremely difficult to construct.During the construction process,slot wall reinforcement technology is used to ensure the stability of slot formation,and milling-drilling-milling technology is used to address the problem of ultra-deep rock of diaphragm wall.The super-large reinforcement cage of underground continuous wall is built and lifted in one time to ensure the construction quality and safety,and the green construction is achieved by adopting the green and environment-friendly mud circulation treatment technology.The construction technology of ultra-deep diaphragm wall applied in the project yielded positive results and has the potential be become more widely used.

    • 摘要: This paper investigates the impact of biohazards and pandemics on construction workers’ health and well-being. A proper selection of control methods for biohazards and pandemics like COVID-19 pandemic will result in improved public health conditions. Occupational risks in the construction industry are also examined, with a focus on biohazards and pandemics, their containment, and the implications for health and safety. A safer work environment in the construction industry is encouraged. In this study, some statistical methods were used to analyse the data obtained from sampled questionnaire. According to the findings, fewer people in poor developing countries get routine check-ups compared to developed countries. The construction industries studied have little or no insurance plans for staff. It also demonstrates that personal protective equipment (PPE) such as nasal masks, helmets, hand gloves, and work aprons can assist in the control of biohazards in the construction sector, such as asthma, cancer, and asbestosis. There should be safety awareness programmes, conferences, and seminars, as well as first-aid kits and HSE and qualified health workers on all building sites. In addition, the government should examine the site for the usage of PPEs and verify that records of family/personal medical history are maintained.

    • 摘要: In view of the problems found in the in-depth interviews of the current situation of rural non-point source pollution control mechanism in Nantong City and their reasons,the following six countermeasures and suggestions are put forward,including giving full play to the role of fighting bastion of the Party branch and building a mechanism for Party building to lead the control of non-point source pollution in rural areas,giving prominence to the dominant role of farmers and establishing farmers’endogenous motivation excitation mechanism for rural non-point source pollution control,improving the interest coordination mechanism among multiple governance subjects and building a modern control system for rural non-point source pollution,combining regulations,administrative,economic,technical and other means of rural non-point source pollution control and strengthening the synergistic integration mechanism of multiple means of control,reconstructing the information disclosure mechanism of rural non-point source pollution control and building a comprehensive trust mechanism of multiple control subjects,and improving the mechanism for coordinating the supply of policy tools and ensure that basic mechanisms play their due role.
