Objective: To compare the applications of five kinds of routine elastic registration methods included of Horn-Schunck optical flow method, Demons algorithm, accelerated Demons algorithm, level set algorithm and fast free deformation algorithm in radiotherapy. Methods: 10 patients who underwent radiotherapy on pelvic cavity were enrolled in the research. And their CT images at the time of location and during radiotherapy were collected, and the five kinds of routine elastic registration methods were applied in the research, and through autonomic programming to implement elastic registration, and then the registered results were further compared. Results: The average minimum mean square error (MSE) of five kinds of routine elastic registration methods have been decreased 6.7%-26.0%, and the average correlation coefficient(CC) has been increased 2.6%-3.7%, and the average registration time was 107.5s-220.8s. Conclusions: All of the five kinds of elastic registration methods get better results, and it is recommended to use Horn-Schunck optical flow method for elastic registration of radiotherapy CT. And through using elastic registration model can more accurate simulate the movement of organ, and it is a direction of further study that monitor individual dosage of organ at risk.%目的:比较Horn-Schunck光流法、Demons算法、加速Demons算法、水平集算法以及快速自由形变算法5种常用弹性配准方法在放射治疗中的应用.方法:选择10例行盆腔放射治疗患者,采集其放射治疗定位时CT图像与放射治疗期间CT图像,利用5种常用弹性配准方法,通过自主编程实施弹性配准,并对配准结果进行比较.结果:5种常用弹性配准方法平均最小均方误差(MSE)减少6.7%~26.0%,平均相关系数(CC)提高2.6%~3.7%,平均配准时间为107.5~220.8 s.结论:Horn-Schunck光流法、Demons算法、加速Demons算法、水平集算法以及快速自由形变算法5种弹性配准方法均取得较好的配准效果,推荐使用Horn-Schunck光流法对放射治疗CT图像进行弹性配准.利用弹性配准模型,能够更精确地模拟器官运动,是监测危及器官个体化剂量进一步研究的方向.

为解决医学图像上的形变和偏移,本研究采用基于B样条自由形变的配准方法.建立一个由控制点组成的网格,并将其套用在待配准图像上,得到初始控制网格参数.以梯度下降法为优化算法,以SSD测度为相似性测度,不断修正该参数,参数的改变将引起控制点最近邻4×4控制网格内所有的像素点发生移动,移动后的坐标位置由B样条拟合得到.以双线性插值为插值算法,计算出该位置的灰度值,该位置相对于配准后图像,等同于像素点移动前的位置映射到参考图像相对应的位置,当配准后图像与参考图像对应位置的灰度差异度达到最小时,就达到图像的最佳配准.实验结果表明,该算法配准结果满意,从而验证了本研究算法的有效性.%In order to solve deformation or deviation on medical image, Free-form Deformation (FFD) based on the B-Spline was used as the registration algorithm, which established a grid consisting of control points that is applied to the moving image to obtain the initial control grid parameters.Gradient descent measure was used as the optimize algorithm and sum of squared differences measure was used as the similarity measure to revise the parameters constantly.The change of parameters would cause pixel points in the nearest 4×4 unit control grids to move and the coordinate position after moving were gotten by B-Spline interpolation.Bilinear interpolation was used as the interpolation algorithm to calculate the grayscale value in the position.The position in the moved image relatively was equivalent to that in the fixed image mapped by the pixel point before moving.It would get best image registration result when the gray difference degree reached the minimum between the two corresponding positions respectively in the moved image and fixed image.Experiment results shows that it can get satisfactory registration result, thus verify the algorithm in this paper is effective.

摘要:
目的 研究多层次变换和优化方法在PET-CT图像弹性配准中的应用.方法 采用多层次变换和优化方法进行配准,以互信息为相似测度,进行全局刚性变换,采用单纯形优化法,在刚性变换基础上进行B样条形表变变换,使用有限内存BFGSB优化算法.随机选取3个患者进行PET/CT扫面,采用所得的6组数据验证本文算法.以传统单一变换方法和优化策略方法进行对比.结果 四种配准方法中,本文提出的方法相对于其他方法互信息值最大,而仿射变换相对于其他方法形变速度最快,其次为本文方法速度最快,差异有统计学意义,P<0.05.选取3例患者进行PET/CT联合扫描,得到6组切片图像对算法进行检验,在互信息值为相似性度量为前提.发现本文方法的互信息值和配准时间均优于LBFGSB、BSpline和Affine,P<0.05.结论 多层次变换和优化图像配准方法可解决PET形变问题,配准速度快,精确度高,值得临床应用及推广.

Objective: To apply level set motion-based elastic registration method to radiotherapy CT image, then to provide technical support for the accurate evaluation of tumor and changing process of patients with endanger organ and its accumulative dose. Methods: Based on Vemuri’s level set motion method, we wrote the algorithm program using Matlab software and applied on two sets of 3D CT images from patients with cervical cancer and NPC for fully automatic elastic registration. Results: Comparing CT images before and after registration, for the cervical cancer patient, the minimum mean square error (MSE) decreased by 55.1%and correlation coefficient (CC) increased by 5.3%. For the NPC patient, MSE decreased by 32.1%and CC increased by 4.6%. Conclusion: From the image difference and evaluation parameters, the efficacy of level set motion-based elastic registration method was preliminarily demonstrated. In order to apply this method to clinical radiotherapy, dit needs to find a more accurate mathematical algorithm further in order to compute human anatomy deformation through image motion.%目的:将基于水平集的图像弹性配准应用于放射治疗CT图像中,为精确评估患者肿瘤及危及器官变化过程及其累加剂量提供技术支持。方法:根据水平集进化理论,通过matlab软件编程,分别对宫颈癌患者与鼻咽癌患者放射治疗分次间的两组CT图像实施三维全自动的弹性配准。结果:宫颈癌患者配准前后对比显示,最小均方误差(MSE)减少55.1%,相关系数(CC)提高了5.3%;鼻咽癌患者配准前后对比显示,MSE减少32.1%,CC提高4.6%。结论:从配准前后差分图以及评价参数可见,该理论取得了较好的试验效果,但要真正应用到临床放射治疗中,需进一步探寻更精确的数学算法以模拟人体器官的运动。

In order to improve large scale deformation medical image registration efficiency and accuracy,this paper proposed a new elastic registration method based on thin plate spline(TPS)and B-spline.Firstly,the method used scale invariant fea-ture transform(SIFT)algorithm to obtain the matched feature points.Secondly,it used TPS to reduce the scale of deforma-tion.Thirdly,it used local region process hierarchical B-spline to treat the deformation grid as the initial grid,and it adopted the limi-ted memory Broyden Fietcher Goldfarb Shanno(L-BFGS)algorithm to complete registration quickly and accurately. This process only refined the local region which had a large deformation.Experimental results demonstrate that the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method are superior to those of hierarchical B-spline.%针对大尺度形变医学图像配准速度慢和精度低的特点,提出一种结合薄板样条(TPS)和 B 样条的弹性配准方法。该方法采用尺度不变特征变换算法(SIFT)进行图像特征提取与匹配,利用 TPS 算法将特征点对作为输入进行预处理,以降低浮动图像的形变尺度,从而提高下一步 B 样条配准的速度与精度。然后使用局部区域细化层次 B 样条方法将 TPS 生成的较稀疏的形变网格作为初始网格,结合有限记忆优化算法(L-BFGS)对控制网格作进一步处理,此过程只对形变较大的局部区域进行细化,以实现与参考图像的快速精确配准。实验结果表明,该方法较层次 B 样条方法有效地提高了配准的速度和精度。

介绍了一种基于快速自由形变的弹性配准算法,并将其应用到放疗患者不同分次间的CT图像中,为进一步分析肿瘤及危及器官的变化及累加剂量提供技术支持.通过Matlab软件编写三维全自动弹性配准程序,应用此程序对鼻咽癌放疗患者不同分次时的两组三维CT图像进行仿真实验验证,并与基于传统Lucas-Kanade光流场模型的三维弹性配准相比较.基于快速自由形变的弹性配准算法配准前后对比,最小均方误(MSE)减少了19.8%,相关系数(CC)提高了7.1%;Lucas-Kanade光流场模型算法配准前后对比,MSE减少了37.8%,CC提高10.6%.两种配准方法均取得较好的配准效果,基于传统的Lucas-Kanade光流场模型的三维弹性配准的评价参数好于快速自由形变配准法算法,但快速自由形变配准法算法配准时间只是传统的Lueas-Kanade光流场模型的0.576倍.不过上述两种算法对于细微差别处,仍显得精度不够,如要应用到在线自适应放疗中仍需进一步提高形变的精度与进一步减少配准时间.

肺癌放射治疗中,肺部肿瘤位置实成像对于临床意义重大。在一种利用单 X射线投影进行成像的实时肺部3D成像算法中,图像配准过程引入的不准确对于 PCA模型构建以及重建过程有重大影响。文章分析了光流法、Demons算法、水平集算法三种配准算法对重建效果的影响,并通过定性以及定量实验分析验证。结果表明,光流法配准在配准结果以及模型构建方面有较好的效果。%In modern lung cancer radiotherapy, it is important to have a precise knowledge of the real-time lung tumor position during the treatment delivery. For a real-time 3D lung imaging algorithm from a single X-ray projection image, the inaccuracies contributed by the image registration process affects much on the PCA modelling and construction process. We utilize 3 deformable image registration algorithms: Optical Flow method, Demons method and Levelset method to evaluate the effect. By making quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, we get the conclusion: Optical Flow method works much better in registration and PCA modelling.

To get the accurate local transformation of images registered quickly,a new elastic registration method based on the free-form deformation was proposed.This method adopted the coarse-to-fine strategy,initially the global nonlinear transformation was estimated, and then the regions with local deformation was determined on the basis of the matching error of each landmark point and they were re-fined.Accordingly,the control lattice resolution in these regions was increased and more accurate registration function was obtained. This process was performed until the errors of the entire landmark points were below the predefined threshold.Using this method,each level approached a more practical deformation than the former level,which assured the registration transformation was accurate and smooth.The registration experimental results for the MRI brain images showed the proposed method was an accurate,fast and robust elastic image registration method,especially for the images with complex local deformation.%为了准确、快速地得到图像的局部变形,基于自由变形思想,提出了一种自适应层次B样条弹性配准方法。使用由粗到精的方式,估计全局非线性变形,根据每一个标记点的匹配误差来进一步确定局部变形区域;对该变形区域进行细化,得到更精确的配准函数,直至所有标记点的匹配误差均在设定的阈值范围内。该方法使得每一层都比前一层更加接近实际的图像变形,保证了配准变换的精确性、光滑性。对MRI脑图像进行配准实验,实验结果表明了该方法准确、高效、稳健性强,特别适用于具有复杂局部变形的图像。

图像配准是一种建立两幅图像空间对应关系的过程,它被广泛应用于计算机视觉、遥感数据分析及图像处理中,特别是在影像引导放射治疗领域,图像配准发挥着巨大作用。但由于受呼吸运动的影响,精确的肺部影像配准依然是一个充满挑战的难题。目前,尺度不变特征变换(Scale-Invariant Feature Transform,SIFT)已被用于医学图像配准中,并且取得了较理想的结果。然而,SIFT检测到的仅是图像的块特征,不能有效的反映肺部的运动。文章提出了一种基于Harris和SIFT算子的杂交型特征检测方法,这种方法能有效检测肺部的组织特征,如血管分叉点和肺部边界等。除此之外,为了有效去除特征匹配过程中产生的错配点,还提出了一种基于互相关和组织结构不变性的滤除错配点方法。文章最后采用一系列不同呼吸周期的肺部CT影像来对所提出的算法进行验证。定性和定量的结果表明,该算法较传统的SIFT算法更具优越性。%The image registration is a process of establishing spatial correspondences between two images. It is widely used in the computer vision, the remote sensing data analysis and the image processing. Especially in the image-guided radiation therapy, the image registration plays an important role. Recently, the scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) has been used in the medical image registration, and obtained promising results. However, SIFT is apt to detect blob features which cannot relfect properly motions of lungs. In this paper, a hybrid feature detection method, which can detect lung tissue features effectively based on Harris and SIFT algorithms, was proposed. In addition, a novel method which can remove mismatched landmarks was also proposed. A series of thoracic CT images were tested by using the proposed algorithm. The quantitative and qualitative evaluations show that our method is much better than the conventional SIFT method especially in the case of large deformations of lungs during the respiration.

Objective To investigate cone-beam CT(CBCT) and CT image non-rigid registration using the B spline. Methods Using B-spline free-form deformations model and SSD as a similarity measure function, the registrations of CBCT and CT images were done using B spline non-rigid registration method based on multi-resolution. Results Although the imaging algorithm between CBCT and CT was different, the results were more satisfactory. Conclusion The non-rigid registration of CBCT and CT images using B spline can model the deformation of tumor region before and during the radiotherapy, which provides a support for the clinical analysis of changes in the turnor.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2011,33(3): 116-117]%目的:应用B样条弹性模型研究肿瘤患者放疗中锥形束CT图像与CT图像之间的弹性配准.方法:利用B样条自由弹性模型,以灰度差平方和为相似性测度函数,通过基于多分辨率的B样条弹性配准方法对锥形束CT图像与CT图像进行配准.结果:通过处理后的锥形束CT与CT图像虽然成像算法不同,但都得到较为理想的弹性配准实验结果.结论:基于B样条锥形束CT与CT图像弹性配准能较好地建模放疗前与放疗期间肿瘤区域的形变,为临床分析肿瘤的变化提供支持.

薄板样条插值是应用较多的弹性配准方法.本文深入研究了这种方法,并就此方法的不足之处进行了详细的分析.针对薄板样条插值方法的不足,提出了两种新的处理方法,使薄板样条插值具有平滑性和紧支撑性,大大提高了配准的鲁棒性和适用性.
