    • 摘要: BACKGROUND The association of Sjögren's syndrome(SS)and lymphoma is similar.Mucosaassociated lymphoid tissue(MALT)or extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma was the most common lymphomatous histology in SS patients.MALT in SS patients is frequently located in the parotid gland,while MALT lymphoma of the skin with SS is an exceedingly rare entity that needs to be recognized.CASE SUMMARY A 60-year-old woman presented with a 3-year history of progressive dry mouth associated with a 1-year history of enlarging cutaneous nodules.Physical examination revealed two hard subcutaneous nodules on her right lower leg.The results of Schirmer’s test were positive,despite the absence of dry eyes.Labial salivary gland biopsy revealed lymphocytic infiltration and chronic inflammation with a focus score of 2.The patient was diagnosed with SS.She underwent resection of one cutaneous nodule,and histopathological analysis identified the nodule as MALT lymphoma.Her dry mouth symptoms improved,and the nodules decreased after 6 mo of treatment with hydroxychloroquine sulfate and chemotherapy(thalidomide,cyclophosphamide,and dexamethasone).CONCLUSION Lymphoma is a severe complication of SS,shown by the reported unique case of cutaneous MALT lymphoma with SS.

    • 摘要: Background Im paired sesitwity of he soin Mlush response bo miacin is one of the most rpicated findngs in patents with schizoprenia Howewer.prior studies have usaly focused on postonset psychusis,and ll is knowm about the dinical high-risk(CHR)phase of niacin senstity in psychosis Aims To proftle and compare the miacin flush responsge among CHR individuals(converters and non-coverters)patients with frstepso schinophrenia(FES)and healty controls(HCs).Methods Sensivily 1o ftour concentralions (0.1-0001M)of aqueous methylnicotinate was tested in 105 CHR individuals,57 patients with FES and 52 HCs.CHR individuals were further grouped as converters and non converters according to the 2-year follow-up outcomes.Skin flush response scores were rated on a 4-point scale.Results Of the 105 CHR individuals,21 individuals were lost during the study,leaving 84 CHR individuals;16(19.0%)converted to full psychosis at 2 years of fllow-up.Flush response scores identifed in the CHR samples were characterised as modest degree levels,intermediate between those of HC individuals and patients with FES.The flush responses in the CHR group mimicked the responses observed in the FES group at higher concentrations(0.01 M,0.1 M)and longer time points(15 min,20min);however,these became comparable vith the responses in the HC group at the shorter time points and at lower concentr ations.The converters exhibited lower mean flush response scores than the non-converters.Conclusions Attenuated niacin-induced flushing emerged during the early phase of psychosis.New devices should be developed and verified for objective quantification of skin responses in the CHR population.

    • 摘要: In the World economy forum Global Challenge Insight Report titled “The Future of Jobs-Employment, Skills and Workforce Strategy for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (FIR) in 2016”, a new industrial revolution was predicted to occur in the near future. This is followed by the opinion that it would be mandatory to prepare for the FIR because it will definitely change people’s way of working, consuming and thinking. There is a controversy as to the potential of AI in health care. To date, however, remarkable achievements have been made in the field of medicine, particularly entailing dermatology. Therefore, this study explored the usefulness of the AI data in analyzing the skin in the era of the FIR. The current study finally included a total of 300 subjects, for whom a self-reporting questionnaire survey was performed between June 09 and July 18, 2020. The current study proposed the following hypothesis: The AI data might be useful in analyzing the skin in the era of the FIR. This hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, the current study suggests that the AI data might be useful in analyzing the skin in the era of the FIR. But this deserves further study.

    • 摘要: This paper presents the current knowledge about the reconstruction of dinosaur heads. To reconstruct the dinosaur head, several features and functions of the head must be studied, namely osteology, musculature and soft tissue of the head, cranial kinesis, craniodental biomechanical characteristics, posterior part of the cranium, skin, and others. The main steps and points resulting from the study are the following. Firstly, the osteological remains of the head are studied for reconstruction according to the correct size and form in comparison with known remains belonging to the same family in case the remains were not complete. As the dinosaurs did not have facial muscles, their skin was pressed directly to the skull. The skin covering the large openings in front of the orbits of many dinosaurs probably bulged gently outward, and similarly, the jaw muscles bulged gently from the skull openings. Also, an investigation is performed to decide if sauropods were terrestrial or aquatic animals. Then, the individual characteristics of the head are examined in detail. These concern: 1) endocranial cast and nerves, 2) nostrils position, 3) the existence and kind of cheeks and lips, 4) Teeth types and function, 5) the palate shape and skin covering, 6) hyoid apparatus and tongues, 7) the details of the ear, 8) sclerotic rings and eyes, 9) skin and color. With the knowledge gathered about the various parts of the head in mind, decisions are made about the Amargasaurus (a sauropod) head in order to reconstruct a 3D, actual size head, as a worked example. Finally, the reconstruction procedure is described in detail.

    • 摘要: BACKGROUND Langerhans cell sarcoma(LCS)is a rare malignancy with poor prognosis.LCS and chronic lymphocytic leukemia(CLL)/small lymphocytic lymphoma(SLL)can occur in the same diseased tissues,such as lymph nodes or skin.CASE SUMMARY A 48-year-old female Han Chinese patient was admitted for generalized lymph node enlargement for 6 years and abdominal distension for 1 wk.She was diagnosed with small B-cell lymphoma(stage IV)/CLL(Benet stage B)and received chemotherapy.She started oral ibrutinib in February 2019.She was hospitalized on June 11,2019,and a 1.5 cm×1.5 cm dark-red nodule with ulceration scalp lesion was found.Biopsy revealed LCS but without CLL/SLL.She was diagnosed with CLL/SLL(Binet stage C,Rai stage IV)accompanied by secondary histiocytic sarcomas and skin LCS and received cyclophosphamide,doxorubicin,vincristine,dexamethasone,and etoposide but developed severe cytopenia.She ultimately refused treatments and discharged spontaneously.She died on September 12,2019.The literature review showed that in patients with CLL/SLL,skin lesions of LCS are accompanied by CLL/SLL.This patient was different from the previously reported cases of skin LCS in patients with CLL/SLL.CONCLUSION In this patient,the skin lesion of LCS showed no concomitant CLL/SLL.

    • 摘要: Various factors can induce cell degeneration by altering the phenotype and metabolism of cells.Mitochondria play an essential role in cellular homeostasis and function,rendering aging processes highly associated with mitochondrial function and status.Herein,we describe an aging-prone phenotype of murine skin cells caused by depletion of Rad6B(Ube2b),an E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme.In this study,using Masson’s trichrome,we showed that loss of Rad6B causes physiological structure changes in mouse skin with age.In addition,a combination of western blotting experiments,transmission electron microscopy and employment of immunofluorescence staining revealed that depletion of Rad6B was characterized by an abnormal mitochondrial metabolic profile,including decreased mitochondrial biosynthesis and mitochondrial complex activities,increased ROS production and suppressed mitophagy resulting in metabolic disorders.Taken together,these results highlight an important relationship between Rad6B and skin senescence,suggesting that Rad6B plays an indispensable role in maintaining a healthy mitochondrial network and intracellular homeostasis.
