24.5 g/10min.%Blends of styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS)/polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) were prepared by using par-affin oil KP6030 and naphthenic oil KN4010 as the two kinds of extender oil. The effects of different extender oil and PBT content on the mechanical properties and flowability of the blends were studied. Meanwhile, the cross-sectional morphology of some SEBS/PBT blends was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that the effects of the two kinds of extender oils on the performance of the blends are basically similar. The mechanical properties of SEBS/PBT blends with paraffinic oil as the extender are better, but the flowability is poorer. With the increase of PBT content, the compatibility of the blends show a trend from poor to good, leading to the melt index of blends decreasing first and then increasing. At the same time, the mechanical properties test results show that with the increase of PBT content, the tensile strength and hardness of the blends of the two groups have been improved significantly, and the tensile strength of blends has been increased from 2.75 MPa and 2.46 MPa to 4.93 MPa and 5.57 MPa. The hardness of the blends of the two groups have been increased from 42.5 and 45.8 to 67.2 and 72. The mechanical proper-ties of the blends are effectively improved, but the increase of PBT content inhibite the flow properties of the blends, the melt index show a certain degree of decline, and the melt index of the paraffin oil blends decrease from 18.5 g/10 min to 16.6 g/10 min. The melt index of the naphthenic oil blend decrease from 27.4 g/10 min to 24.5 g/10 min.
