    摘要: CGA E-3 specifies the connections on removable pipeline regulators and station outlets used in the welding, cutting, and allied processes where the pipeline pressure does not exceed 200 psi (1380 kPa). Removable connections are those that are commonly and readily engaged or disengaged in routine use and service.A regulator connected to or in the pipeline by pipe threads, bolted flanges, etc., is not considered removable. Therefore, this standard does not apply to the following:regulators built into equipment so as to become an integral part of a larger device;high capacity regulators generally used in fixed locations and provided with inlet fittings larger than covered in this standard; andregulators attached to the pipeline by pipe threads, flanges, etc.All new pipeline installations shall incorporate the connections specified in Section 5.This standard does not prejudice the continued use of acetylene and LPG type connections in service or in inventory at a manufacturer's or user's site that were manufactured before the effective date of this standard provided the connections are identifiable with the appropriate CGA markings.The effective date of this standard is three years from the date of the publication of this edition, which was February 17, 2021. New acetylene and LPG pipeline installations on and after the effective date of this standard shall be in compliance with this standard.

    摘要: The discovery of nitrosamine impurity in one type of drug product in 2018, led the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Health Canada, and other international regulators to begin to investigate the presence of this contaminant in other drugs. With additional drug products being identified leading to recalls in 2019, the FDA and Health Canada required firms to establish plans to conduct risk analysis of their manufactured drug products and the active pharmaceutical ingredients they used for the presence of nitrosamines. If nitrosamines were found to be present, firms were required to ensure that levels did not exceed recommended acceptable intake limits. Medical gases are classified as drugs in both the United States and Canada, therefore CGA evaluated the production inputs and outputs of common medical gases. CGA members have also received inquiries regarding nitrosamine contamination of gases used by pharmaceutical firms in the manufacture of their products. This position statement and the associated technical report reflect the results of the evaluation CGA performed and is consistent with CGA's March 26, 2020 letter to Health Canada in response to DEL Bulletin No 57 regarding nitrosamines.

It provides safety guidance and addresses design and operating practices only as they affect safety.This publication addresses both cryogenic air separation unit (ASU) and hydrogen/carbon monoxide (HYCO) processes.This publication is primarily to document current practices and is intended to apply to new facilities. It is recognized that some existing plants may not meet all recommendations or requirements from this publication. This publication need not be applied retroactively, including where this publication uses the word?shall?.This publication does not cover the following:Generally accepted engineering practices for structures and process equipment; only those issues that are specific to cryogenic enclosures are included;Enclosures for processes producing liquid hydrogen or helium. It also discusses the dangers related to excess oxygen or hydrocarbon levels in catalytic oxidation and sulfur and hydrocarbon removal systems used to purify carbon dioxide. In addition, potential fire hazards that can be encountered when spent adsorbent media is exposed to air during periodic replacement are reviewed. Finally, this publication provides recommendations to prevent fire and explosions related to these causes in by-product carbon dioxide plants.

    摘要: This publication is intended to provide shippers and carriers with a guideline method of analysis to determine the presence in anhydrous ammonia of the prescribed minimum water content of 0.2% by weight as required by DOT regulations. Lack of the appropriate percentage of water in single loads of ammonia has been found by experience to result in extensive stress corrosion damage to the QT cargo tanks. This method is intended for field use and thus the equipment and procedure selected may vary slightly from that used under laboratory conditions. Other proven methods of determining water content are acceptable.

Its purpose is to give guidance on development of mechanical integrity programs for acetylene generators. The user of this publication should review the model mechanical integrity plan and create a site-specific mechanical integrity plan.This publication gives guidance on the mechanical integrity (MI) of acetylene generator systems that use calcium carbide added to water, known as wet generation. An MI program is intended to ensure that the generator system components do not fail in a way that causes or enhances a catastrophic release of highly hazardous chemicals. This publication identifies potential failure scenarios and consequences for acetylene generator components. For each failure scenario whose consequence is a loss of containment, the publication identifies an inspection method, a minimum frequency of inspection, and the acceptance criteria for the inspection method.

CGA strongly recommends that railroad tank cars manufactured with ASTM A212 Grade B, A285 Grade C and A515 Grade 70 not be used for stationary liquid carbon dioxide storage. CGA also recommends that DOT 105A500W and DOT 105J500W railroad tank cars not be converted to stationary liquid carbon dioxide storage. The reasons for these recommendations are outlined in the document.
