实施时间:摘要: Im Jahre 1995 entwickelte das Technische Komitee 3-13 der CIE das Unified Glare Rating (UGR) zur Vorhersage der psychologischen Blendung in Innenräumen. Aus praktischen Gründen basiert das UGR-Verfahren auf einer mittleren Leuchtdichte der Blendquelle. Die Einführung von LEDs in der Allgemeinbeleuchtung ermöglichte viele neue Leuchtendesigns, die teilweise zu unvorhergesehen hohen Leuchtdichtekontrasten innerhalb der Leuchte führten. Die in diesem Report vorgestellte Literaturrecherche zeigt, dass UGR zu einer Unterschätzung des durch die Blendung hervorgerufenen Unbehagens tendiert, die von solchen Leuchten mit stark inhomogener Leucht-dichtestruktur hervorgerufen wird. Mehrere Methoden zur Korrektur des UGR-Verfahrens werden mittels experimenteller Daten bewertet, indem die Werte aus den Korrekturmethoden mit dem wahrgenommenen Unbehagen aufgrund der Blendung von homogenen und inhomogenen Lichtquellen verglichen werden. Die bevorzugte Methode enthält eine präzise Definition der Blendquellenfläche, basierend auf einem Leuchtdichtebild der Blendquelle. Diese Methode behebt die Diskrepanzen zwischen UGR und der wahrgenommenen Blendung von inhomogenen Lichtquellen. Als Ausblick und Hilfestellung für zukünftige Arbeiten zu Blendungsvorhersagemethoden werden die verbleibenden Schwächen von UGR kurz dargestellt. -

In order to improve that, we have to consider various conditions, such as "ensure the lighting environment for the safe and secure and sleep," "toilet ensure," "ensure the thermal environment". In this study, we investigated the actual condition of glare in the nighttime lighting environment of evacuation center and examined the improvement method. Regarding the glare improvement method, the effectiveness of indirect lighting was shown based on the results of brightness distribution simulation with Radiance. -

实施时间:摘要: Stray light from commercial greenhouses is becoming a significant problem causing disruption to wildlife activity and annoyance for local residents. To quantify the amount of stray light from a typical large greenhouse the authors have modelled several lighting installations based on a range of generic horticultural light sources. The impact of the stray light is dependent on the spectral power distribution of the sources employed, the intensity and distribution. Current standards for obtrusive light from outdoor work places do not seem to be suitable when applied to greenhouses. -

实施时间:摘要: The paper presents a registration of occupancy and the use of (day)light in four buildings representing respectively offices, primary schools, universities, and industry buildings; it was done across Europe in 2020. A self-registration method was used, assisted with light technical measurements outdoors and indoors. In general, occupants consider the visual environment at the workplace when they are coming in or out of the room. It happens mainly at the beginning (adjustment of blinds and switching light on) and at the end of the working day (switching light off). In the primary school building, where users move in-out many times during the day, the adjustment happens more frequently. Also use of projector generates very low general light level; covering windows and switching off the electric light happens accordingly, but the pattern is not consistent. In general, the changes in the electrical lighting use follow the occupancy pattern, not the light levels. -

实施时间:摘要: This paper presents a set of field measurements performed at renovated lighting installations equipped with adaptive road lighting systems. The results revealed issues of over-illumination but also insufficient lighting levels that would not be shown without the field measurements. Since the adaptive road lighting systems can regulate the lighting output and should in parallel ensure adequate lighting and safety levels, the commissioning of such system is challenging. In this scope, we are proposing a holistic scheme for the commissioning and optimization of the operation of Adaptive Road Lighting systems taking into account field measurements, technical parameters of the incorporated equipment, and all aspects that may affect its performance. The proposed scheme can be used as a masterplan from the conception of the road lighting up to the validation field measurements and the long-term optimization and maintenance schedule of the installation. -

实施时间:摘要: Shading control strategies are nowadays employed in office environments to improve the visual comfort of the user. These strategies are often solely illuminance-based whereas comfort metrics as the Daylight Glare Probability (DGP) also need luminance values. In previous studies, daylight glare has been assessed by calculating the DGP from luminance maps obtained via a luminance camera or from a High Dynamic Range (HDR) image obtained with a commercially available camera. These detectors are traditionally mounted close to the user and aligned with the viewing direction. In real office environments, this camera position is impractical, and simulations based on machine learning techniques have shown a relation between the DGP from an observer's viewpoint and the DGP calculated from a ceiling camera. This paper experimentally validates this method in a real office environment by using two different cameras and two different illuminance sensors, i.e., a low-cost illuminance sensor and a calibrated sensor. Both cameras render similar results, although one camera overestimates the DGP. Moreover, the shortcomings of the simulation results are pinpointed and the obstacles for a realistic application are addressed. Furthermore, it was found that when moving the cameras to different positions, the sun position was shown to be an informative additional input for correlating the two DGP values. In future work, additional data will be analysed to determine the performance in other weather conditions and window orientations. -

实施时间:摘要: The use of passive techniques in architecture is welcome. A renowned Brazilian architect, Severiano Mário Porto, developed over 200 projects and became an icon of Brazilian modernism, specifically in the Amazon, working with this prerogative. This work aims to combine the analysis of the lighting quality in Severiano's projects, corroborating the recognized fame of the "Architect of the Amazon". The research procedures adopted were: documentary survey, selection of case studies, application of a monitoring protocol with photometric analysis and user consultation, and daylight computer simulation. In terms of daylighting, when applied the monitoring protocol on the current state of the building, the lighting values are not satisfactory according to Brazilian standards. As the view outside, the results showed medium and high quality. The questionnaires point to high levels of satisfaction. The computer simulations show the daylighting potential of the original design. There is clear evidence that the actual condition wastes the potential of the original design in terms of daylight use. -

实施时间:摘要: Visual comfort, task performance, and observers satisfaction is affected by the dynamic nature of visual perception and cognition. The perceived quality of the visual environment can be investigated in terms of visual complexity, visual clarity, and visual preference. This paper investigates the relationship between visual preference, visual clarity, visual complexity, colourfulness and the effect of spatial characteristics of images on the perceived quality of indoor environments. A visual experiment is conducted to assess the accuracy of image quality metrics in estimating the visual complexity, visual clarity, visual preference, and colourfulness of 50 images of indoor environments. Seven image quality assessment measures were used to estimate observers subjective evaluations. Results indicate that image colourfulness metric M correlates statistically significantly with visual preference and perception of colourfulness. Visual complexity correlated with five of the metrics. Future research will investigate wide range on images, including human-made and outdoor scenes. -

实施时间:摘要: Cycling has a range of benefits and should be encouraged, but darkness may put people off from cycling due to reductions in visibility, road safety and personal security. We summarise analyses of observational data to confirm the negative impact darkness has on cycling rates. Using a Case / Control method that accounts for confounding factors such as time of day and seasonal variations in weather, we demonstrate a consistent effect of darkness across different locations and countries. The size of this effect varies though, suggesting certain unknown factors may be important in mediating the impact of darkness on cycling rates. One factor that is known to mediate the effect is road lighting. We show that increased illuminance can offset the reductions in cyclists caused by darkness and also that there may be an optimal illuminance after which no further benefits may be achieved. -

实施时间:摘要: For field research of non-visual effects of light, accurate measurement of personal light exposure is required. A consensus framework for light-dosimetry could improve non-visual field research and ensure comparability between studies. Here we present a review of methodologies used in non-visual light-dosimetry studies published to date, focussing on considerations regarding the measurement and preparation of personal light exposure data. Overall, a large variability in the studies methodologies is observed, highlighting the need for a consensus framework. We propose methodological considerations that should be included in such a framework and that can guide future studies. Furthermore, we highlight important points that should be addressed in future research to ensure compatibility between different dosimetry studies. Taken together, this review effort underlines the importance of a systematic approach to light-dosimetry in order to harness all the power of integrative lighting research in real-life. -

实施时间:摘要: Currently, programs for lighting calculation based on computer graphics (CG) allows us to move to a fundamentally new approach to a assessing the quality of lighting. A designing based on illuminance can be complement with designing based on synthetic images or on lighting design. Modern CG programs can calculate the spatial-angular distribution of luminance (SADL). However, to make the assessment of the quality of lighting using SADL a new criterion is needed. This paper considers constructing a physiological model of the visual perception scale based on experimental data and on neural network for simple scene as light source viewed on a uniform background with different luminance levels. Scale based on threshold contrasts of luminance for each sensation can be a fundament of new criterion. The article offers the method of construction the map for each sensation using the example of «discomfort» and «unpleasant» maps that can easily applied in programs. -

It provides an overview of the research methods, mathematical models and the variables which are considered to influence discomfort glare. The report describes the difficulties associated with the evaluation and measurement of discomfort glare and the variance in the models.One aim of the report is to encourage further research on discomfort glare using methods informed by the proposals raised in this report. Such research will generate a greater body of credible data, thus enabling the development of a more robust model. It is intended to update this report in due course with these additional data and a revised discomfort glare model. -

实施时间:摘要: In this study, the photometry of a wide range of classic and innovative pavements used in urban and interurban areas were characterised both when new and after 30 months of natural aging. An extreme diversity of behaviour with respect to light reflection was revealed both over time and between pavements. The simulations of relamping cases show that the use of typical CIE r-tables almost systematically leads to non-compliance with the EN 13201 standard, particularly in terms of uniformity. Taking the photometry of the pavement at its stabilized state into account, simultaneously allows for compliance with lighting safety issues and for significant energy savings. As measurements of pavement photometry are rarely carried out, an alternative is to build up a database of urban pavements, which is one of the objectives of the Pavements and Lighting working group. -

实施时间:摘要: In a goniophotometer system, it is often unavoidable to use long cables to connect power supply, electrical measuring instrument, and the device under test (DUT). The measurement errors caused by cable impedance should not be ignored. An equivalent electrical circuit model considering the cable impedance of a typical goniophotometer is established in this paper. The measurement errors caused by the cable impedance are analysed by simulation. In DC and low frequency circuits, the cable impedance is almost resistive, while the inductive impedance of cables is significant and may lead to considerable errors when frequency is above 1 kHz in the circuits. Cable solutions in goniophotometry are introduced and recommended. -

实施时间:摘要: There is only little guidance available for the evaluation of the degree of equivalence for higher dimensional measurands, especially in respect to tristimulus values. Currently, the tristimulus values are usually treated as one-dimensional measurand in order to simplify the degree of equivalence evaluation and be able to use the well-known procedures and statistics known from one-dimensional measurands. As the tristimulus values are clearly a high-dimensional measurand, they should be treated in that way. In the following, a procedure for the degree of equivalence evaluation for high-dimensional measurands is presented where the Monte Carlo method is used to support a clear understanding of the procedure. In addition to the procedure, the limitations of this method are discussed in regard to tristimulus values. -

实施时间:摘要: Optimising lighting installations reduces energy consumption and stray light while providing optimal visibility conditions for road users. However, the origin of the large discrepancies often observed between the design of lighting installations and their actual performance remains poorly explained. For the design stage, it is assumed that the road has homogeneous photometric characteristics. To examine the impact of pavement heterogeneity on these differences, numerous measurements of pavement reflection properties were carried out on an experimental site with a portable device. A homemade software was used to perform several road lighting calculations by integrating the measured r-tables in different ways. New metrics based on lighting performance criteria deviation and pavement reflection properties deviation are used to compare the calculations. The results highlight the importance of measuring the optical properties of pavements and confirm methodological guidelines for making representative on-site measurements. -

According to the results of the research carried out to date it is explained that lighting design results for cell office should reach EML (Equivalent Melanopic Lux) higher than 250 and CS (Circadian Stimulus) approximately 0.4-0.3 at office hours 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This study is an alternative lighting design were created in which EML and CS criteria values are specified in cell office without receiving daylight. Artificial electrical lighting design should be analysed in order to deliver an optimal circadian lighting that can help to increase occupants productivity, performance and decreasing energy consumption. -

In this context, it becomes fundamental to take into account the needs of each individual. The aim of this study is to show the benefits of designing the right atmosphere for the place and the needs of all inhabitants. Designing the ambience of a space leads us to anticipate the environment that will influence the subject who lives there. The design of the colour and light atmosphere contributes to improving the quality of life by ensuring a certain comfort in their daily activities. Through a case study, we will present an analysis protocol to examine a visual environment. The data collected will allow designers to move towards a more sensitive and adapted design of lighting and colour applied to collective housing. -

实施时间:摘要: The higher the colour fidelity of a light source, the lower its luminous efficacy of radiation because the light source spectrum must deviate from V(A) to deliver the higher fidelity. Two experiments probed the trade-off between energy efficiency and colour quality. Experiment 1 required participants to simultaneously view pairs of light sources differing in colour fidelity, at either a higher (346 lx) or lower (277 lx) illuminance. Participants performed a timed reading task and judged the colour appearance of the pair. There were no effects of illuminance, but larger colour fidelity differences between the light sources in the pair correlated with lower appearance judgements. Experiment 2 simulated the effect of light sources on defined reflectance spectra. The results showed that improvements of colour fidelity above what is often considered satisfactory can yield more satisfying illumination while using the same amount of power.
