Fatigue is now acknowledged as a hazard thatpredictably degrades various types of human performance, and can contribute to aviation accidents or incidents. The identification of causal factors is best accomplished through a properly conducted investigation. To emphasise this point, Annex 13 states that the objective of the investigation of an accident or incident is prevention.
