FIELD: filtration.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a car air filter and a filtering element for such a device of an air filter. The air filter includes case (12) containing a cavity for accommodation of filtering element (10), which has a frame surrounding filtering material (18) of filtering element (10) in at least some places. The frame consists of first sidewall (20) and the opposite second sidewall, as well as the first and the opposite second transverse walls connecting sidewalls. On each sidewall, near transverse walls, there is protrusion (26). Case (12) contains two opposite sidewalls (44), which have at least one groove. The first protrusion of the sidewall of filtering element (10) is inserted into the first end area of the groove in the first direction. On sidewalls, near the other one of two transverse walls, there is the second protrusion, and sidewalls of the case have the second end area of the groove, directed opposite to the first direction, into which the second protrusion is inserted in such a way that filtering element (10) takes its operating position in the cavity of case (12). At the same time, sidewalls are elastically deformed in such a way that a distance between two protrusions located on the same sidewall decreases, so that the second protrusions come to the second end area intended for them, when they are installed along a guiding edge directed inward.;EFFECT: simplification of the installation of a filtering element to a predetermined mounting position in a filter case.;9 cl, 11 dwg
