PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection jig and a tape feeder inspection method capable of significantly reducing the time required for maintenance work of a tape detector. A tape-shaped inspection jig 60 used for inspecting a tape feeder engages with a row of engagement holes 61 (engagement hole row 61R) that engages with an engagement pin of a feed sprocket included in the tape feeder. It has an engagement avoiding portion 62 which is provided in the same arrangement as the joint hole row 61R and avoids engagement with the engagement pin. The engagement hole row 61R is provided from the head portion inserted into the tape inlet of the tape feeder, and the engagement avoidance portion 62 has a region having a predetermined length L from the head portion 60S on which the engagement hole row 61R is formed.
