Portable Pill Dispenser Device Using Pill Cartridges with Enclosed Pill Strips

The present invention relates to a portable pill dispenser device capable of mounting one or more pill cartridges for dispensing pills by winding a pill strip surrounding the pills between a flexible film. The pill is surrounded by a pill strip and is released as the film on the pill strip separates. The pill dispenser device causes the winding cylinder of each pill cartridge to rotate, causes the pill strip to move towards the opening of each pill cartridge, and an actuator (e.g., , motor). Indications may be placed on at least one of the films to enable detection of the travel distance of the pill strip. The pill dispenser device includes a sensor for detecting indicia so that movement of the film and release of the pill can be tightly controlled.
