A method and device for the ground over-phase suppression of a magnetizing inrush current of a traction transformer, the method comprising: according to a first phase angle of the voltage of a first power supply arm that is lagging behind the voltage of a second power supply arm, a second phase angle of the voltage of the first power supply arm that is lagging behind the primary current of the traction transformer when a locomotive is powered by the first power supply arm, and a disconnection moment of a first power electronic switch corresponding to the first power supply arm that are acquired (S300), determining a no-power time interval of the traction transformer (S301); and according to the disconnection moment and the no-power time interval that correspond to the first power electronic switch, determining a closing moment of a second power electronic switch corresponding to the second power supply arm, so that the magnetic flux of the traction transformer is located within a preset magnetic flux range (S302).
