The security element (1) has a first face (2), a second face (7) opposite the first face (2), and at least one color-biasing first region (3) which can be perceived when viewed from the first face (2). The invention is characterized in that the security element (1) has at least one second region (4) which generates a color impression when viewed from the first face (2) regardless of the viewing angle (5, 6). Upon changing the viewing angle (5, 6), a color-biasing effect is produced in the first region (3), wherein the first region (3) produces the same color impression as the second region (4) at at least one first viewing angle (6), and the first region (3) exhibits a color impression differing from that of the second region (4) at at least one second viewing angle (5) differing from the first viewing angle (6).
