A method of controlling the short chain branching (SCB) distribution of an ethylene-butene (EB) polyethylene resin produced in a gas phase polymerization process using a specific type of magnesium-titanium Ziegler-Natta catalyst is provided. This method allows for an increased level of short chain branching in the low molecular weight fraction of the resin by increasing the polymerization residence time. Polymers produced according to the present invention may be useful in the production of cast and blown films, particularly stretch film applications.
