Natural gas steam reforming hydrogen production system and method therefor. The system comprises a natural gas compressing and preheating unit, a natural gas desulfurization unit, a raw material water purification unit, a steam production unit, a reforming unit, a conversion unit, and a PSA unit. Sour gas is compressed and preheated, and the majority of sulfur elements are removed therefrom in the natural gas desulfurization unit; water passes through the raw material water purification unit to remove ions and is then heated to generate steam; after mixing and preheating, the desulfurized natural gas and steam enter the reforming unit to react and produce a reformed gas; after the reformed gas has cooled, most of the carbon monoxide is converted into hydrogen in a micro-channel shift reactor of the conversion unit; and high-purity hydrogen is separated from the converted gas in the PSA unit. The natural gas steam reforming hydrogen production system and method therefor provided in the present invention have the advantages of low energy consumption and high hydrogen purity.
