Detecting homozygous words in domain names

Various techniques for detecting homozygous names of domain names are disclosed. In some embodiments, a system, process, and/or computer program product for detecting homographs of domain names receives a DNS data stream, the DNS data stream comprising a DNS query and a DNS response for resolving the DNS query. Ham -; apply a homograph detector for each domain of the DNS data stream; and detecting homographs of domain names in the DNS data stream using a homograph detector.
