A smart home monitoring method and apparatus are disclosed. A smart home monitoring method according to an embodiment of the present invention includes receiving a sensing value for a smart home and information on an Internet of Things (IoT) device, inputting the sensing value into an artificial neural network to obtain an output value , determining whether an abnormality has occurred in the smart home based on the output value, and generating a control command for the IoT device based on information on the IoT device when it is determined that an abnormality has occurred in the smart home and transmitting the control command to the IoT device.
