The saturated iron core type superconducting current limiter for direct current of the present invention comprises: an iron core serving as a magnetic field flow path; a primary coil positioned on the primary side of the iron core and forming a DC power supply path in a DC system; a secondary coil positioned on the secondary side of the iron core and having a superconducting wire wound thereon; a DC power supply for supplying a default DC current to the secondary coil; and a power consuming element connected in parallel with the DC power supply. Here, the power consuming device may be formed of a metal oxide arrester (MOA).
