Methods and systems for controlling a vehicle. The system includes a location system, a memory in which a digital map is stored, and an electronic processor. The electronic processor is designed to receive a current location of the vehicle from the localization system and to determine a future driving segment of the vehicle based on the current location of the vehicle. The electronic processor is further configured to determine at least one power limitation based on the future driving segment of the vehicle and to modify a driving behavior of the vehicle based on the determined at least one power limitation.
