Method for creating a transition from an edge of an add-on part mounted on the outer surface of a rotor blade. The invention describes a method for creating a transition from an edge (3E) of an add-on part (3) mounted on the outer surface (2) of a rotor blade (1), comprising the steps: - delimiting an application area on the rotor blade surface (2) and the add-on part (3) to be covered by a sealant compound (LS) with a thin and smooth masking tape (8), - dispensing of the sealant (LS) on the application area, - distribution of the sealant (LS), - removing the masking tape (8), - smoothening of a sealant (LS) transition step with a flexible tool (7). The invention further describes an according wind turbine rotor blade.
