In order to knock slices (S) such as raw schnitzel automatically and quickly, but with a similar result as by hand, thinner, a mechanical flattener (100) is proposed in which several slices (S) open and Ab movable punches (1 - 6) are arranged, which hit the disc (S) offset in time to each other and after each knocking pass the disc by a step width, approximately corresponding to the length of a stamp (1 - 6) in the direction of passage (10), automatically is transported further.
