To provide a threshold determination device for analysis and a threshold determination method for analysis with which it is possible to count with a high S/N ratio.SOLUTION: A threshold determination device 100 for analysis includes a threshold determination unit 46 for determining a pair or multiple pairs of thresholds used for analysis on the basis of a pair of thresholds generated by a computation unit 41 and a count value outputted by a pulse counting unit 34. The computation unit 41 repeatedly generates a new threshold derived by changing at least one threshold out of the pair of thresholds until a prescribed value is reached, each time the pulse counting unit 34 counts pulses. The threshold determination unit 46 selects a rank that is a representative value on the basis of a frequency distribution in which each pair of generated thresholds constitutes a rank and the count value outputted by the pulse counting unit 34 constitutes a frequency. The threshold determination unit 46 determines, from the rank that is a representative value, a pair or multiple pairs of thresholds that correspond to ranks in a prescribed range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8A
