The invention concerns a hoisting device (1) for raising a road lid (2) having a stand unit (10) for mounting the hoisting device (1) on a substrate (3),a lifting unit (20) with a coupling element (21) for coupling with the road cap (2) and a drive element stored on the stand unit (10),which is movable for moving the coupling element (21) at least between a coupling position (I) for coupling the coupling element (21) with the road head (2) and a lifting position (II) for raising the road head (2). The invention also concerns a method (100) for raising a road cap (2).
