In this study, we presented a novel method for synthesizing two-dimensional polyaniline (PANI) nanosheets using ice as a hard template. The synthesized PANI showed a very high current flow of 5.5 mA at 1V and a clearly high electrical conductivity value of 35 S/cm. This is a significant improvement over other literature values reported over the past several decades. The excellent electrical properties of the PANI nanosheets formed on such an ice substrate are due to the edge-on π-overlapping of quinoid rings aligned on the ice surface over a large area, which is the result of PANI due to the help of the ice surface. due to the vertical growth of PANI nanosheets grown on ice substrates have two unprecedented advantages: First, the synthesized PANI nanosheets can be easily transferred to a variety of other substrates in a so-called “float off” form on the ice surface. Second, the synthesized PANI can be patterned in any shape using a pre-made mask, which is expected to ultimately enable the application of conductive polymers to electronic devices for various purposes in a cheap and convenient way.
