The invention relates to a method of treating an oil from the pyrolysis of plastics, comprising: a) the selective hydrogenation of said oil in the presence of hydrogen and of a selective hydrogenation catalyst, at a temperature between 100 and 150 ° C, a partial pressure of hydrogen between 1.0 and 10.0 MPa and a VVH between 1.0 and 10.0 h-1, to obtain a hydrogenated effluent; b) hydrotreating said hydrogenated effluent in the presence of hydrogen and a hydrotreating catalyst, at a temperature between 250 and 370 ° C, a partial pressure of hydrogen between 1.0 and 10.0 MPa and a VVH between 0.1 and 10.0 h-1, to obtain a hydrotreatment effluent; c) separation of the hydrotreatment effluent in the presence of an aqueous stream, at a temperature between 50 and 370 ° C, to obtain a gaseous effluent, an aqueous effluent and a hydrocarbon effluent; e) recycling a fraction of the liquid hydrocarbon effluent.
