A generally blade-shaped welded package enclosing articles is disclosed. The package includes: a single sheet of plastic material folded in half along a fold symmetry line so that one half of the sheet lines up in correspondence with the other. The free edges of the two halves of the folded sheet are welded together. A closed cavity enclosing the articles is defined within the package and has the fold line as a boundary. The welded pack has an integrated strip including regions of the folded sheet located remote from the fold line welded together face to face. A line is shown on the welded package adjacent and parallel to the fold line for cutting or tearing the package in order to access the items inside. Figure to be published with the abstract: Fig. 1
