In order to improve separation capacity without causing, inter alia, an increase in size in a centrifugal separation device (separation-plate-type centrifuge), there is provided, for example, a centrifugal separation device having a rotary container and a plurality of separation plates 201 that are layered inside the rotary container at prescribed intervals, the centrifugal separation device utilizing centrifugal force to separate components having different specific gravities contained in a fluid to be treated. In this centrifugal separation device, the surface of each separation plate 201 is provided with a gap section (strip-form gap piece 202) that maintains the prescribed interval from other layered separation plates 201, and at least one protrusion or recess (protruding/recessed section 203) having a prescribed pattern is formed in a region between the gap sections.
