PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weld joint having such high efficiency that a heat gain is 10 kJ/mm or more, and having a weld metal excellent in strength and a mechanical characteristic such as a cryogenic temperature characteristic.SOLUTION: A wire for electroslag weldment contains, in terms of mass%, C: over 0% and 0.07% or less, Si: over 0% and 0.50% or less, Mn: over 0% to 1.0%, Ni: 6.0-15.0%, Fe: 79% or more, and satisfies following formula (1): 0.150≤C+Si/30+Mn/20+Ni/60≤0.300 (1).SELECTED DRAWING: None
