Electronic system to bring about changes in the physiology of a single plant or a plurality of plants

An electronic system suitable bringing about changes in the physiology of one or more plants 5 grown in a medium. The changes include causing growth acceleration, growth retardation and/or change in the concentration of a plant’s metabolic products as, for example, contained in leaves, fruits, tubers of the plants and/or change in water and/or mineral uptake of the plant. The system is activated by electrical power 1 and has means to produce time varying electromagnetic energy in the form of at least one high frequency carrier waves, preferably within the range 50KHz – 10GHz and having means 2 to amplitude tone modulate the carrier waves. Preferably the system has means to couple its amplitude modulated signals into a plant without physical contact with the plant. The system may have a timer to control exposure of the plant to the field.
