The autostereoscopic display device includes a backlight 66 , a display panel 62 comprising rows and columns of pixels, and a lenticular device 60 , 64 , wherein the backlight 66 includes stripes or columns in a column direction. providing a stripe output comprising an offset by an acute angle to direction, wherein the lenticular arrangement is a first lenticular lens array on the side of the display panel 62 facing the display output to direct the different display panel pixel outputs in different directions 60 and a second lenticular lens array 64 on the opposite side of the display panel 62 facing the backlight 66 to provide collimation of the stripe backlight output.
