Problem to be solved: to provide a boiling water reactor capable of preventing horizontal movement along the lattice member of the water removing apparatus suspended in the lattice member of the upper support plate.The boiling water reactor includes a fuel support metal fixture provided on a core support plate for supporting a lower end portion of a plurality of fuel assemblies loaded in a core, and an upper grid plate 7 for supporting the upper end portion of each fuel assembly.The water eliminating device 27 has a water like member having a plate-like form including a material (carbon) which is provided at the lower portion of the hanging member attached to the holding portion 34 and the holding portion 34, and has a less decelerating property than light water.The holding portion 34 is held between the movement preventing portion 59A and the movement preventing portion 59b provided on the upper surface of the lattice member 7a.The water exclusion member is disposed between the fuel assemblies immediately under the lattice member 7a.When the shaking causes movement of the holding portion 34 in the horizontal direction along the lattice member 7a holding the holding portion 34 by the earthquake, the movement of the holding portion 34 in the horizontal direction is blocked by the movement preventing portions 59A and 59b.Diagram
