Samples in an array of containers mount these containers on the sample stage, move the magnets closer to the bottom of the container in the first container row, apply a magnetic field, and move the magnets to the second. It is processed by bringing it closer to the bottom of the row of containers and by moving the heater element closer to the bottom of the first row of containers. Thermal energy can be applied to the first row of vessels while the magnetic field is applied to the second row of vessels. This process can be repeated for additional columns. The container can also be shaken to stir the sample. A single device can heat, shake, and apply magnetic fields without the need to transfer containers to different stations.
